Under 21 DUI Charge

DUI charges can be difficult to face, however if you have been charged with DUI and you are under the age of 21 (the legal drinking age in Arizona) then you could face very serious and long-lasting penalties if you are convicted of this charge. One major repercussion of being convicted of this charge is that you will have a mark on your record. This mark can prevent you from obtaining a commercial license, or finding work in a commercial driving field for the rest of your life. Among other penalties, this can be difficult to deal with. For this reason it is imperative that you have skilled and experienced legal representation on your side throughout the duration of your case.

Penalties for a first conviction of drinking and driving while under the age of 21 may include the following:

  • License suspension for 24 months, however you may be eligible for a restricted permit at the court's discretion
  • Ignition interlock device in all vehicles for three years
  • Class one misdemeanor criminal record for life
  • Possible probation
  • Education classes, community service and or other penalties at the court's discretion
  • Fines and surcharges

These penalties can result in serious lifelong repercussions if you are convicted of this crime. Your future is vitally important and you should never be convicted of a crime that you did not commit. There are many cases where evidence is compromised or mixed-up and individuals are convicted of DUI charges that they are not guilty of.
